Sighseeing
The major attraction of San Vito lo Capo, its lovely beach, extends to a homonymous cape. The town boasts a rich maritime tradition. It is constructed around an old Saracen Fortress, which later grew into a sanctuary, established to hour Saint Vito. The area of San Vito lo Capo offers visitors the simple pleasures of life such as benign climate, sea, fish, lovely beach and charming small streets, filled with flowers.
Couscous Festival
Every year in September, the town hosts the Couscous Festival. The festival takes place on the lovely seafront of San Vito lo Capo. It celebrates the North African gastronomy and particularly the "couscous", a traditional North African dish, cooked from the grains of the wheat plant. The dish is served with fresh fish, vegetables, or chunks of swordfish. The festival also celebrates the best of the Sicilian cuisine. Together with the main event, the town opens up for a variety of other activities such as global music concerts, cultural happenings, and wine tasting. The aim of the event is above all to encourage integration of different cultures and peoples.
